The development of sensor technology, automation, and intelligent manufacturing has accelerated since the Industrial Revolution, exerting a revolutionary impact on modern industrial production models. From the centrifugal governor on Watt's steam engine to the cybernetics proposed by Norbert Wiener, and further to the smart sensors now ubiquitous on production lines, countless engineers, scientists, and industrialists have collectively laid the foundation for this field. Their intellectual legacy continues to drive the evolution of contemporary industrial systems. Sensor technology and automation have become deeply integrated into the entire process of research and development, production, and services, propelling manufacturing toward digitalization, networking, and intelligence. With the proliferation and deepening of intelligent manufacturing, the complexity and integration of production systems have reached unprecedented levels. This places higher demands on real-time perception, precise control, and intelligent decision-making capabilities while also introducing new challenges related to security and reliability.
